MothRod – Single-Length Precision Tenkara Rod (8'5") | Wasatch Tenkara Rods
Introducing the MothRod, Wasatch Tenkara Rods’ first step into the world of single-length Tenkara design. Purpose-built and uncompromising, the MothRod embraces simplicity with a fixed 8'5" length that delivers pure, traditional Japanese Tenkara performance.
Designed for anglers who value feel, balance, and intention, the MothRod weighs just 1.9 ounces, making it exceptionally light in hand while maintaining a confident, capable backbone. It collapses down to a compact 16 inches, making it an ideal companion for backpacking, travel, and minimalist kits.
Crafted from premium carbon fiber, the MothRod blends strength with sensitivity, offering the refined feedback and smooth casting characteristics associated with classic Japanese Tenkara rods. Available in 5:5 or 6:4 action, anglers can choose between a full-flex, traditional experience or a slightly faster action with added control and reach.
Whether you’re drawn to tradition, simplicity, or the purity of a single-length rod, the MothRod delivers an elegant, focused fishing experience—nothing more, nothing less.
